I am the Technology Facilitator at Isenberg Elementary School. This is my third year at Isenberg. I previously served as a Technology Facilitator in Kannapolis City Schools and taught 14 years in the classroom. This is my twenty-second year in education. I have an undergraduate degree in Elementary Education and a Master's Degree in Instructional Technology. I earned both of my degrees from Appalachian State University. I also have a certification in gifted education. I'm looking forward to serving the students as we move through a digital conversion across the district.
Many people may not know or understand the role of the Technology Facilitator. I wear many hats. My main responsibility is to coach teachers to use technology as an effective tool in their classroom. I am also the first responder to technical difficulties within our school. I am the person that is called when something won't work. I manage projectors, document cameras, laptops, iPads, interactive white boards, Apple TVs, etc. Another responsibility is maintaining the school's webpage and social media sites like Twitter. I also supervise the publication of Isenberg's daily news show. I serve as an instructor. I plan PBLs and co-teach with teachers. I also work with teachers on a variety of technology-enriched projects that support their curriculum.I work with students on a variety of projects and instruct them on internet safety, digital citizenship, and responsible use of technology. I stay informed about current technologies and their impact on instruction.
