1:1 iPad Information

Parents,

I am excited about the upcoming school year.  If your child is a rising 3rd grader, they will receive an iPad that they will be able to take home with them this year.  The iPad will be very exciting to them, and it is a great opportunity.  There are some things that have to take place before they are able to take them home.  You can find all of the information by clicking on the link below and going to Rowan-Salisbury's website.  The first thing that needs to be done is.  If you choose to view the video at home, please make sure that your child watches it with you.  Viewing this video together will give you the opportunity of discussing internet safety, taking care of the device, and your rules for using it at home.  Most of their homework will be accessed through the iPad.  You may choose to allow them more screen time after their homework is finished.  However, you will want to discuss screen time with them and how much is too much.  You will also want to review Isenberg's consequences for iPad infractions.  If your child is a rising 4th or 5th

This is a great time to review expectations for using the iPad.

The next thing is to sign the Responsible Use Policy and the Isenberg iPad Infractions Matrix.  I have placed a link to the district's 1:1 site at the bottom of this page.  You can find all of the needed resources at this link.  You may print the Responsible Use Policy, sign it, and turn it in at Open House.

The final step is to pay the $25 user fee.  You may also do this online.  You will need to know your child's student number in order to do this.  Most students know this number, but if you have any issues, please call the school and speak to Mrs. Wilkerson or Mrs. Brown.  We will also collect payments at the school during Open House or any other time that you are able to come in to the school.  You can pay with cash or card.  (No checks.)

You may take care of all of these things online.  If you do not have internet access or prefer to come to the school to complete these steps, you will be able to attend one of our parent night meetings.  A list of these dates and times will be posted by Monday, August 8.
